The Chicago Blackhawks Dethrone the LA Kings

Toews reaching to score on the L.A. Kings.

It is Hockey Day in America and the Chicago Blackhawks game against the LA Kings is nationally broadcasted as the Game of the Week chosen by NBC. What better way to celebrate than with yet another Blackhawks win? As a fan I am pretty thrilled about their continuing winning streak. Don’t get me wrong, I am still in touch with reality and anticipate the first game they lose because it is inevitable.

The now 12-0-3 Blackhawks squeezed by with the win today after having a three-goal lead for most of the game, but in the third had allowed two goals. For the Blackhawks, Brent Seabrook , Jonathan Toews, and Patrick Sharp tallied up a goal each in the win while the Kings’ Mike Richards was the only scorer for both of his team’s goals. Ray Emery was in the net for the Blackhawks once again since usual first-string goaltender Corey Crawford is still “progressing” day-to-day with his upper body injury as described by Coach Quenneville.
