Review: Blogilates Beginner Total Body Workout Video

Today was another one of those days where I found it impossible to motivate myself to go to the gym. I know it’s important to do a least a little bit of exercise everyday, but I was not ready to engage in my usual intense workout. I had heard about Blogilates before across various websites and decided to try one out. I chose to do the beginner total body workout because that was the first video suggested by the workout calendar that Cassey (the Blogilates trainer) has put together for everyone just starting out. For more of my reviewWhen I started watching the video I thought it was going to be too easy. I have been working out consistently for about a month and a half now and have noticed some distinct changes in my strength. However, I have never done Pilates and well… I had quite a bit of a challenge finding enough room in my teeny tiny dorm room to do the exercises, but I made do with the space I have.

Cassey starts the video with Pilates breathing fundamentals. The thirty minute video involved various exercises including the quintessential Pilates 100 and leg pulses. There were times during the video especially during the leg portion where I figured out that I am not as fit as I thought I was. After a lot of pulsing and many expletives later (I’m terrible…) the workout was over! Just as the title promised I worked out my abs, legs, and arms all in 30 minutes! Although I’m not sweating as I would with my usual workouts, I definitely feel it everywhere. I definitely plan on involving more of her videos into my workout routines during the week because Pilates definitely works your body differently than the standard weights and cardio.
